This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer / Piping Engineer to work on international projects, collaborating with experienced Process Engineers, Automation Engineers, Project Managers and Sales teams. You will contribute to major capital projects lasting up to 18 months and gain exposure to global engineering standards and technologies.

About the role:
 
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design and successful delivery of hygienic process systems and process plants from concept through implementation.

You will be responsible for developing detailed engineering designs and supporting multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to a high quality standard.
 

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical and process plant designs

Produce engineering documentation including:

• Plant layouts
• Piping layouts and isometrics
• Equipment drawings
• Foundation drawings
• Fabrication drawings
• Material take-offs
• Line diagrams
• Support engineering and project execution activities
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical support when required
• Evaluate systems and equipment for performance and cost-effectiveness
• Prepare technical specifications and purchase requisitions
• Support installation and commissioning activities
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management and Sales teams
• Ensure designs meet technical and contractual requirements

About you

• •Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Food Technology or related field
• Knowledge of process plant layout and piping design within hygienic industries
• Experience using AutoCAD and 3D CAD software
• Ability to convert concept designs into production and installation drawings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
