The Accountant responsibilities will include assisting in day-to-day accounting operations including receivables, payables, and month-end close. In addition to preparing, processing, and analyzing various accounting data and operational information, the role will support various departments as needed with contract management and other financial and administrative tasks. BISim operates under a strict Financial Controls Framework and the accountant is responsible for ongoing monitoring and adherence to these policies.

Kea Ares of Responsibility:

• Daily and on-going responsibilities of the Accountant position include but are not limited to:
• Financial Controls Framework - documentation, ongoing monitoring and testing
• Accounts receivable - issuance of sales invoices and subsequent collections
• Accounts payable - entering purchase invoices, checking approvals, management of vendor payments
• Local tax laws, VAT or Sales and use tax - ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Cash flow
• General ledger (account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, etc.)
• Processing employees’ expenses reports
• Monthly preparation of accruals, deferrals and prepayments
• Bank reconciliations
• Support monthly close process
• Support external annual audit
• Support BAE internal audit activities as they arise
• Ad hoc projects as needed

Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy and diligent approach to work
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Ability to balance competing priorities
• Fluent in English

Education and Experience:

• BS degree in accounting or similar discipline
• Experience with accounting software (Netsuite is preferred)
• Intermediate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Inter-company accounting experience
• Software and / or government contracting industry
• Interaction with foreign subsidiaries / foreign currency
