About the role

We are a small HR team of three, working closely together to support our employees, managers, and the day-to-day needs of the university. We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and hands-on HR Operations Specialist who enjoys working with people, taking ownership, and managing a variety of HR tasks.

This is a varied role combining HR administration with broader HR generalist responsibilities. You will independently manage selected HR processes, provide practical support to employees and managers, and help ensure smooth daily HR operations. We are also working on improving and simplifying our HR processes, so you will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas, make improvements, and have a real impact on how HR works at UNYP.

Main responsibilities

• Independently manage day-to-day HR operations and take ownership of assigned HR processes.
• Prepare and manage employment contracts, amendments, and other HR documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with Czech labour law and internal policies.
• Prepare and check payroll inputs and coordinate with an external payroll provider.
• Manage HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
• Act as a key point of contact for employees and managers, providing practical support on everyday HR matters.
• Cooperate with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth HR operations.
• Monitor HR deadlines, follow up on outstanding tasks, and ensure timely completion of HR activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and the employee experience.
• Support other HR projects and initiatives as needed.

What we expect from you

• Previous experience in HR operations or a similar HR generalist role.
• Good knowledge of Czech labour law and HR administrative procedures.
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and manage tasks from start to finish.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a helpful and service-oriented approach.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with HR systems.
• A proactive, practical, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Reliability, discretion, flexibility, and the ability to work well with others.
• Good command of both Czech and English, written and spoken.
• Enjoyment of working with people while keeping HR processes organized and efficient.
