GENERAL MANAGER – Industrial Construction Project in Uzbekistan

• For our international client, a well-established European manufacturing group operating in the building materials industry, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take over the management of a major industrial construction project in Uzbekistan.
• The project involves the construction of a new manufacturing plant for building materials and is expected to run for at least two years. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the further planning, coordination and successful delivery of the project, including construction, installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over the overall management of a large-scale industrial construction and investment project
• Coordinate all project phases, from ongoing planning and construction through installation and commissioning
• Manage project schedules, budgets, milestones and investment targets
• Coordinate architects, engineering companies, contractors, suppliers and other external partners
• Cooperate closely with the client’s headquarters and local stakeholders
• Monitor construction progress, quality, costs and compliance with agreed technical standards
• Manage project risks, changes and critical issues
• Coordinate equipment installation and preparation for production start-up
• Provide regular project reporting to senior management
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, health & safety requirements and internal standards

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in project management of large industrial investment projects
• Previous experience with the construction, expansion or major reconstruction of manufacturing plants
• Strong understanding of industrial construction, engineering and plant infrastructure
• Experience managing complex projects involving multiple contractors and suppliers
• Strong project management, organisational and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and investment milestones
• Independent and hands-on approach
• Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
• Fluent English
• Very good Russian
• Willingness to work and spend a significant amount of time on-site in Uzbekistan
• Technical or engineering education is an advantage
