Global Category Buyer – Marketing Procurement

For our client, a leading global technology company, we are looking for an experienced Category Buyer – Marketing Procurement.

Do you have experience in the strategic procurement of marketing services and feel confident leading complex sourcing processes and negotiations across multiple markets? Are you familiar with creative and media agencies, digital marketing, events, or market research?

In this role, you will work within a Global Marketing Procurement team, contribute to the implementation of a global category strategy, and help build efficient, transparent, and sustainable partnerships with marketing suppliers. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and procurement teams across different regions in a truly international environment.

What will you do?

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for marketing services—from defining requirements and running eRFX processes to evaluating proposals and leading commercial and contractual negotiations.
• Procure services across creative and media agencies, digital marketing platforms, events, sponsorships, and market research.
• Support the implementation of the global Marketing category strategy.
• Manage suppliers and contracts throughout their entire lifecycle, including onboarding, SLA and KPI setting, performance reviews, risk management, change requests, and contract renewals.
• Identify savings and value-creation opportunities through benchmarking, total cost analysis, and market intelligence.
• Select suitable commercial and contractual models for different types of marketing services.
• Standardize procurement processes, templates, and playbooks while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing stakeholders, regional procurement teams, and the Global Category Manager.
• Independently manage priorities and your sourcing pipeline.
• Use data, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve decision-making and supplier management.
• Report on savings, supplier performance, and other procurement KPIs.
• Build long-term strategic relationships with key marketing suppliers.
• Support the Marketing category ESG strategy, including CO₂ reduction, sustainable event formats, and greater supplier transparency.

What do you bring?

• At least 5 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Proven experience leading complex, high-value sourcing processes and negotiations, ideally across multiple countries or regions.
• A strong background in Marketing Procurement, such as creative agencies, media, digital marketing, events, or market research.
• A good understanding of marketing agency commercial models, including retainers, project-based engagements, and managed services.
• Knowledge of media and digital marketing contracting structures.
• The ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of assigned procurement projects.
• The ability to translate internal stakeholder requirements into effective supplier solutions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data and commercial insights into practical recommendations.
• Experience with procurement and P2P tools, ideally SAP Ariba.
• An interest in automation, generative AI, and digital transformation in procurement; practical experience in these areas is an advantage.
• Fluent English and the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
