GL Accountant for technology company
Prague | Hybrid Work Model | full-time role | 6 months contract with possible prolongation | immediate start

The company partners with thousands of hotels, serviced apartments, and accommodation providers worldwide, helping them streamline operations, automate processes, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

We are currently looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to support the finance team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong accounting background who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment.

What will you be responsible for?

• Managing and maintaining general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and complete financial records.
• Performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Preparing supporting documentation for financial reporting and audits.
• Assisting with statutory accounting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Supporting external auditors and coordinating audit-related requests.
• Collaborating closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Payroll, and FP&A teams.
• Participating in process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Ensuring all accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.

What are we looking for?

• At least 5 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting, Financial Accounting, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced, fluent English is essential.
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Experience working within an international or shared services environment is highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel skills including working with large datasets and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Excel, Navision).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders across different countries.
