Role Overview:

For our client, a well-established international company operating in the heavy engineering and custom manufacturing sector, we are currently seeking a Project Management and Planning Lead to join their team in the South Moravian region.

This is a key role combining project management, production planning, and team leadership within a highly customized manufacturing environment. You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex engineering projects while coordinating planning activities across multiple departments.

The company is open to candidates who may not yet have extensive people-management experience but have a strong background in project management within manufacturing and are ready to take the next step into a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of customer projects, from technical specification and engineering through procurement, manufacturing, and final delivery
• Coordinate project execution across engineering, purchasing, planning, and production teams
• Ensure the availability of resources, documentation, and technical information required to support production activities
• Manage production capacity planning and resource allocation across multiple projects
• Balance production priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts to ensure timely project completion
• Support and coordinate the preparation of commercial and technical quotations
• Monitor project costs, critical milestones, and delivery timelines while proactively mitigating risks
• Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings to drive project execution and operational alignment
• Develop, mentor, and support a team of project managers and planners
• Continuously improve project management methodologies, planning processes, and ERP utilization
• Drive operational efficiency through process optimization and best-practice implementation

What Will You Need To Succeed:

• Secondary or university degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Proven experience working with custom-made or engineer-to-order production
• Understanding of production planning, capacity management, and manufacturing workflows
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Technical mindset combined with a practical approach to problem-solving
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English or German required for regular international communication
• Leadership experience is advantageous; however, candidates with strong leadership potential are also encouraged to apply
• Experience with ERP systems and project planning tools
