Overview
Riverside International School is seeking an experienced, highly organised, and proactive HR Generalist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working across the full spectrum of human resources in a dynamic and friendly international school environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of HR services across the school, ensuring compliance with Czech employment legislation, preparing employment contracts and HR documentation, supporting payroll administration, and providing professional HR support to managers and staff.
Working closely with Recruitment and the school leadership, the HR Generalist will help ensure that HR processes are delivered efficiently, professionally, and with a strong focus on employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Employment Contracts and HR Administration
- Prepare employment contracts, amendments, confirmation letters, and other employment-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Monitor contract renewals, probation periods, and employment status changes.
- Ensure HR documentation complies with Czech labour law and school policies.
- Support visa and work permit administration where applicable.
- Maintain and improve HR processes and procedures.
Employee Lifecycle Support
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
- Provide HR support and guidance to managers and staff on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with employee relations matters and day-to-day HR enquiries.
- Support performance management and professional development processes.
- Contribute to employee wellbeing, engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
Recruitment Support
- Provide administrative support to the Recruitment Manager throughout the recruitment process.
- Coordinate interview schedules and candidate communications.
- Assist with onboarding activities for new employees.
- Conduct reference checks and support pre-employment screening processes as required.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and documentation.
Pre-Employment Compliance
- Coordinate pre-employment checks, including: Criminal record and background checks, Reference verification, Qualification and certification, validation Right-to-work documentation
- Ensure all required documentation is collected, verified, and stored appropriately.
Benefits and Payroll Support
- Support the administration of employee benefits programmes, including health insurance and other staff benefits.
- Respond to employee enquiries regarding benefits and HR processes.
- Liaise with payroll providers and support monthly payroll administration.
- Ensure HR data required for payroll processing is accurate and up to date.
HR Systems and Reporting
- Maintain and develop the employee database and HR information systems.
- Generate HR reports and workforce data as required by school leadership.
- Monitor HR metrics and support workforce planning activities.
- Ensure all HR records remain accurate, secure, and up to date.
Compliance and GDPR
- Support the school's compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Safeguard employee data and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ensure HR practices comply with relevant legislation and school policies.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience working across a broad range of HR functions.
- Strong knowledge of Czech employment law and HR regulations.
- Experience preparing employment contracts and managing HR documentation.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Czech.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
