About the employer
NRG Cables is a fast-growing cable manufacturing company with the ambition to become one of Europe’s leading cable and wiring companies. The company develops and manufactures cable solutions for key sectors such as electrical infrastructure, construction, command & control and household appliances, combining industrial know-how, modern production capabilities and a strong focus on quality, reliability and competitive solutions.
The company is currently strengthening its production and market position, expanding its product portfolio, increasing production capacity and developing its presence in international markets. In this context, access to reliable raw material suppliers, strong purchasing discipline, contract execution and close alignment between purchasing, production, logistics and sales are critical to business success.
This is a hands-on strategic purchasing and supply chain integration role with direct impact on how NRG Cables builds and diversifies its supplier base. You will identify and qualify new raw material suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, support cost optimisation, ensure material availability and help connect purchasing decisions with the rhythm of production, logistics and sales.
The role is not limited to administrative purchasing or logistics coordination. We are looking for someone who understands how raw material sourcing, supplier contracts, prices, payment terms, delivery timing, stock levels and production continuity influence the whole business.
The ideal candidate will bring experience from cable manufacturing, raw materials, metals, aluminium, copper, PVC, recycling or another complex industrial manufacturing environment, and will be ready to take broader responsibility for supplier development, material flow and measurable business impact.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and managing a portfolio of raw material suppliers, especially in areas related to copper, aluminium, PVC and other materials relevant to cable production.
- Identifying, attracting and qualifying new raw material suppliers, with a strong focus on diversifying the supplier base and developing sourcing opportunities outside Western Europe, especially in Asia, China and Africa.
- Negotiating new and existing supplier contracts, including prices, delivery terms and payment terms.
- Driving cost calculations and cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations and better sourcing options.
- Ensuring timely deliveries of raw materials and supporting continuity of production.
- Monitoring stock levels and aligning material availability with production and sales needs.
- Coordinating operations between purchasing, production, logistics and sales to ensure the right flow of materials - not too fast, not too slow.
- Supporting the company in building a more diversified supplier base and reducing dependency on a limited number of suppliers or markets.
- Maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers and relevant business partners.
- Working in a KPI-driven environment, with focus on supplier onboarding, material quality, pricing, contract execution, stock levels and production continuity.
- Participation in working capital optimisation through better inventory, payment terms and material flow management.
- Team management or future leadership of purchasing / supply chain team members.
Ideal candidate profile
- Background in the cable industry or in companies producing / supplying raw materials to industrial manufacturing is a must.
- Experience in strategic purchasing, procurement, raw materials sourcing or supply chain roles in an industrial / manufacturing environment is a must
- Experience with raw materials, preferably copper, aluminium, PVC or related industrial materials.
- Practical experience in negotiating supplier contracts, including prices, delivery terms and payment terms.
- Strong understanding of how purchasing decisions influence production rhythm, stock levels, logistics and sales commitments.
- Ability to work with KPIs and translate business priorities into operational actions.
- Ability to coordinate different functions and align people around a common business rhythm.
- Based in Poland, Romania, Czech Republic or Slovakia. The role involves intense business travel frequency, at the beginning to understand the factory, meet key stakeholders and build effective cooperation with purchasing, production, logistics and sales and ongoing for managing current and acquiring new suppliers.
- Very good English, allowing fluent cooperation with international stakeholders and suppliers (B2/C1).
- Strong business ownership, proactivity and willingness to take responsibility for measurable results.
- Nice to have: experience with supplier markets outside Western Europe, especially Asia, China or Africa.
- Nice to have: experience in banking, insurance, trade finance, payment terms or risk-related topics connected with international supplier cooperation.
- Seniority level: mid-senior / senior professional, ambitious and ready for a broader international role, but not necessarily a very senior director-level profile.
What we offer
- real impact, a hands-on role and the opportunity to work in a company with ambitious growth plans, expanding production capacity, product portfolio and international market presence
- high exposure to strategic business decisions and close cooperation with management, purchasing, production, logistics and sales
- a clear development opportunity within the organisation - with the potential to evolve from strategic purchasing ownership into Purchasing team leadership and, in the longer term, a broader supply chain management role
- employment contract / B2B
- competitive compensation package: base salary + performance-related bonus, discussed during the recruitment process
- tools required for the job and business travel arrangements — details to be agreed
Recruitment process
- CV screening
- Online interview with the recruiter - approx. 60–90 min
- Interview (online or in person) with the Hiring Manager — approx. 60–90 min
- Optional: references and background check
- Optional final step - meeting with selected NRG Cables stakeholders / Board representatives and final decision.
