About EAG
EAG is a pan-European automotive technology group building the next generation of software for the automotive industry. Through our EAG (European Automotive Group) platform we operate across multiple European markets, serving car dealers, OEMs and automotive businesses with DMS, marketplace and data-driven solutions. Our ambition is to become the “Salesforce of automotive” — and we are growing aggressively, today operating 15+ entities across CZ, DE, BE, NL, PL and other EU markets.
We are an AI-first finance team. Claude is our primary working tool for financial analysis, modelling, data work and reporting automation. If you are excited about pushing the boundaries of what AI can do in corporate finance, you will fit right in.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Controller & Business Analyst to join the Group Finance team, reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the Group Financial Reporting Manager. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of group controlling, FP&A and business partnering across our 15+ entities.
Your core focus will be on (i) the annual budget and rolling forecast cycle, (ii) variance analysis and management reporting and (iii) day-to-day business partnering with subsidiary finance teams. You will support the Reporting Manager with month-end close coordination, covenant calculations and investor reporting, and act as the analytical engine of the Group Finance function — turning numbers into decisions.
The role is suitable for a strong controller with solid accounting fundamentals who wants to expand into FP&A, scenario modelling and business analytics in a fast-moving, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
FP&A — Budgeting, Forecasting & Scenario Planning
- Own the annual bottom-up budgeting process across all subsidiaries, in close cooperation with local CFOs / Finance Managers
- Run the monthly/quarterly rolling forecast cycle, challenging assumptions and ensuring forecast accuracy
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models — revenue build-up (SaaS / marketplace / services), headcount plan, cost ramp, working capital
- Deliver scenario and sensitivity analysis (base / upside / downside) for strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and group-level planning
- Partner with the CFO on long-range planning (3-year plan, group consolidation view)
Business Partnering with Subsidiaries
- Act as the primary business analyst counterpart for subsidiary CFOs and Finance Managers across CZ, DE, BE, NL, PL and other EU markets
- Run regular business reviews with subsidiary management — deep dives into revenue drivers, cost structure, working capital and KPIs
- Translate group-level targets into entity-level operating plans and challenge local assumptions where needed
- Coordinate ad-hoc requests from subsidiaries (pricing models, customer profitability, capex business cases) and bring them into a consistent group framework
Group Controlling & Management Reporting
- Coordinate and review monthly/quarterly financial close across entities together with local finance teams and external accountants
- Support the Group Financial Reporting Manager with consolidation, intercompany eliminations and reporting package quality
- Prepare the monthly management reporting pack: P&L, cash flow, KPI dashboard, variance commentary vs. Budget and Prior Year
- Maintain the group chart of accounts and reporting taxonomy; flag and resolve mapping inconsistencies
Investor, Bank & Covenant Reporting
- Calculate and report banking covenants (Net Debt / EBITDA, DSCR, interest cover) on a quarterly basis
- Prepare reporting packages for lenders, bondholders and other investors
- Support ad-hoc requests from external stakeholders (Kartesia mezzanine, bondholders, audit) with clean, well-documented data
Data, Analytics & AI
- Work with our data warehouse as a business user — understand the data model, validate data quality, consume and challenge reporting outputs
- Create and maintain management dashboards in Power BI / AI tooling
- Use AI tools daily (Claude is our primary tool) to accelerate financial analysis, automate recurring reporting and improve decision-making
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Regular interaction with subsidiary finance teams, external accountants and auditors across multiple countries
- Collaborate closely with the Group CFO, CEO and subsidiary management on financial matters
- Present financial results, analysis and recommendations to management and commercial teams in a clear, structured way
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
- 5+ years in financial controlling, FP&A or corporate finance, ideally in a multi-entity / international group
- Solid accounting fundamentals — you can read a TB, understand accruals, deferred revenue, capitalisation of dev costs, intercompany mechanics
- Strong FP&A toolkit — driver-based budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, scenario / sensitivity modelling
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills — you build models, not just consume them
- Active user of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT or similar) in daily work — or a demonstrable passion and ability to learn fast
- Proficiency in English (C1) — daily written and verbal communication with international stakeholders
- Working knowledge of BI tools and data warehouse concepts
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations
- Excellent communication skills — you can present to a CFO and run a business review with subsidiary management
Nice-to-Have
- Background in Big4 audit or advisory
- Experience with covenant reporting or lender / investor communication
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP across EU jurisdictions (CZ, DE, BE)
- Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL or similar data tools
- Experience with consolidation tools and intercompany reconciliation
What We Offer
- AI-first finance team — Claude is your primary tool, not a side experiment. We invest in making AI work for finance.
- A senior role with direct access to the Group CFO and C-level management
- Exposure to a fast-growing, pan-European group with a buy-and-build strategy across 7+ countries
- Real impact — you will shape how the group plans, measures and steers its business
- Clear development path into Group FP&A leadership or controllership over time
- Hybrid work model (primarily office in Prague with home-office flexibility)
