Our client, a specialty biopharmaceutical company with a strong presence in rare diseases and specialty care, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Director for the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.

This senior regional role will lead the medical affairs strategy across a diverse and evolving CEE landscape and will be central to driving medical excellence, stakeholder engagement, and patient access across hematology, oncology, immunology, and rare diseases.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic medical leadership across the CEE region, aligned with global and regional priorities
• Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing regional medical team
• Drive the CEE regional medical strategy and ensure strong execution in line with global and brand objectives
• Chair the regional cross-functional leadership forum to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence
• Represent Medical Affairs on the CEE+ Leadership Team and coordinate bi-annual face-to-face leadership meetings
• Lead regional project ROI initiatives and support key strategic programs across field capabilities and medical excellence platforms
• Provide oversight and back-up support for critical governance processes, including grants, ISS, MAP approvals, and medical systems
• Ensure strong regional representation in global initiatives and facilitate effective communication across country medical teams
• Foster a high-performance, pragmatic, and unbureaucratic culture focused on real impact and cross-functional collaboration

Candidate Profile

• Proven senior medical leader with hands on experience driving product launches
• Results-driven with excellent planning, prioritisation, and project management skills
• Demonstrated leadership experience within complex regional, cluster, or large-country organisational structures
• Background in organisations recognised for leadership in hematology, oncology, immunology, or rare diseases
• Commercially aware with a clear understanding of medical impact on business and patient outcomes
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and effective in navigating complexity
• Strong collaborator with the ability to influence across functions and geographies
• Medical degree (MD), PharmD, or PhD, with significant experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry
