The Project Manager - Localization India is responsible for coordinating and executing SCHURTER’s production transfer, localization and cost-down initiatives from European sites to India.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Transfer & Localization

• Plan, coordinate and execute production transfers from Switzerland and the Czech Republic to India
• Ensure complete transfer packages including BOM, BoP, routings, tooling lists, work instructions, testing protocols and documentation
• Coordinate equipment and tooling readiness, shipment, installation, commissioning and acceptance at SEI India
• Ensure stable ramp-up, process capability, operator training and supply continuity
• Facilitate alignment between European and Indian sites throughout all transfer phases
• Cost-Down & Localization Initiatives

Cost-down activities for transferred and localized product groups

• Identify localization opportunities, productivity levers and material/labor cost reductions
• Support make-or-buy evaluations and implementation of approved scenarios
• Track savings, forecast impacts and report progress to management
• Supplier Setup & Qualification in India
• Coordinate supplier qualification and capability evaluations with Quality and SCM

Project Leadership & Coordination

• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones and risk registers
• Lead regular coordination meetings with European and Indian stakeholders
• Align cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, SCM, Production, R&D, Product Management)
• Prepare structured progress updates, decision papers and management reports
• Ensure transparent communication and documentation across all project stages

Candidate Profile

• Technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process / Production Engineering or similar
• 2–6 years of experience in manufacturing, industrialization, production transfers, supplier localization or technical project management
• Experience with relocation of productions to India
• Hands-on experience in a production environment is a strong plus
• Proven project management skills in a technical or manufacturing environment
• Exposure to qualification processes (FAI, PPAP, process capability) is beneficial
  High willingness to travel (up to 50%)
• Excellent communication skills with strong intercultural sensitivity
• Solution-oriented, assertive and able to drive decisions
• Fluent English, Czech required
