Project Manager –Space Applications Ground Systems

We are looking for a Project Manager in our Ground Systems Business Unit. This is a full-time position located in Prague, Czech Republic, to start as soon as possible.

The Project Manager is responsible for one or more Projects which range in size between 3 - 8 persons. Tasks include all aspects of a project: starting with support of sales in the bid phase, continuing through the execution phase, including day-to-day team management, management of the customer relationship, risk management, procurement, product delivery, as well as reporting to company management. Subcontractor management may also be required on some projects.

The output of a given project is a custom-designed hardware system including software, used for supporting satellite assembly and testing, or other pre-launch activities.

Customers are typically the major European space system integrators who are contracted by the European Space Agency or by private companies to build satellites.

What skills and knowledge should you posses

Applicants shall have a university degree in IT or another technical field or equivalent. At least basic knowledge of electrical circuits is mandatory.

• Proficient in English: able to conduct projects in English
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Organizational skills, ability to work individually
• Excellent communication skills
• Solution orientation

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years prior relevant project management experience, leading small to medium sized projects (5-15 persons).
• Proven record of Project Management including the full lifecycle, and including all aspects of project management
• Demonstrated experience in all stages of systems development, from specification to implementation.
• Proven leadership skills

Which competences are an advantage

• Knowledge of / interest in electronic circuits
• Knowledge of Software systems
• System level experience understanding the interaction between mechanical, electronic and software components.
