About the Role

We are looking for a Data Science Specialist with a strong foundation in statistics to join an innovation-driven, global team supporting Animal Health Manufacturing.

This role goes beyond standard data science use cases. You will work with limited and complex datasets, black-box bioprocesses, and real-world manufacturing challenges where robust statistical design, simulation, and interpretation are critical.

You will play a key role in enabling data-informed decision-making across manufacturing, quality, engineering, and regulatory functions, while expanding your expertise in applied statistics and advanced analytics.

What You Will Do

• Lead end-to-end data science and statistical projects addressing manufacturing and quality challenges
• Apply advanced methods such as DOE, SPC, regression, GLMs, multivariate analysis, optimization, simulation, predictive modeling, and time series analysis
• Assess data quality, maintain metadata awareness, and prepare analyses for business stakeholders and regulatory submissions
• Develop reproducible, well-documented code and analytical pipelines
• Automate repeatable analyses and integrate analytics into operational workflows
• Translate complex statistical results into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Stay up to date with modern statistical, predictive modeling, and machine learning methodologies
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Regulatory teams across regions

What We Are Looking For

• MSc or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, or a related field with strong statistical focus
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in data science, statistics, or biostatistics
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments is highly preferred

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of DOE, SPC, GLMs, multivariate methods, simulations, predictive modeling, optimization, and machine learning
• Proficiency in Python or R
• Solid coding practices and experience with version control (Git)
• Ability to work with incomplete or imperfect data and interpret results in a business/manufacturing context
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and within a global team

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed computing environments (e.g. Spark)
• Exposure to regulatory reporting, audits, or submissions
• Familiarity with Agile / DevOps tools (JIRA, Confluence, Git workflows)
• Willingness to travel occasionally
