Stats Perform is the global leader in sports technology. We combine real-time data, historical archives, AI and machine learning to deliver insights to the world’s top sports leagues, broadcasters and teams. Our infrastructure powers millions of requests daily — and we’re hiring senior engineers who can help keep it fast, stable and ready for anything.

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to support and evolve key backend services behind our live sports data infrastructure. You’ll work with a modern microservices architecture running fully in the cloud, serving over 450 million requests per day and peaking at over 13,000 requests per second.

This is a hands-on role focused on system stability, feature expansion and performance optimization. While the systems are mature, the work is critical: adding functionality, supporting high-load events and ensuring the backend keeps pace with the growing demands of our data platform.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, optimize and extend microservices.
• Support the continued migration of legacy components to newer versions and architectures.
• Monitor and improve system performance to ensure high availability and speed at scale.
• Integrate with GraphQL APIs and internal systems.
• Collaborate with backend peers and DevOps to deploy and troubleshoot in AWS-based cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform.

Requirements:

• Extensive professional experience with modern Java and PHP.
• Strong understanding of backend service architecture and microservices design.
• Experience working with cloud-based deployments, ideally on AWS.
• Ability to debug, profile and optimize high-traffic services handling millions of requests daily.
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs and event-driven data systems.
• Comfortable working in an agile team with shared ownership and collaboration.

Nice to have:

• Experience handling real-time data feeds or event-intensive systems.
• Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform or containerized environments (e.g., Docker, ECS).
• Background in sports tech, data platforms or large-scale transactional systems.
