Statutory Accountant - summary

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to support our Controllership team in Czech Republic. This role involves responsibility for VAT agenda, reporting, cooperation with external auditors and shared services, and ensuring tax compliance. You’ll be part of an international team and work closely with colleagues in Czechia and abroad.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• VAT Management: Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• VAT Reconciliation: Monthly reconciliation of VAT accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Invoicing Support: Resolving VAT-related queries and issues related to customer and supplier invoicing.
• Tax Authority Communication: Direct communication with Tax Authorities regarding VAT matters and inquiries.
• Withholding Tax: Preparation and submission of withholding tax reports.
• Accruals: Monthly calculation and posting of necessary accruals
• Invoice Review: Verification of proper accounting treatment of received invoices.
• Payment Processing: Preparation and processing of supplier invoice payments using the CSOB banking system.
• Audit Collaboration: Active support and coordination with local statutory auditors during audits.
• Fixed Assets: Cooperation with Shared Services on fixed asset management and calculation of tax depreciation.
• Statutory Reporting: Preparation and submission of required statistical reports to local authorities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting
• Proven experience with VAT reporting
• Fluent Czech (native level)
• Communicative English (spoken and written)
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
