PBIS is looking for a strategic and experienced Finance Director to join our leadership team and oversee the financial management of our multi-site education organisation. This is a pivotal role, providing financial leadership, strategic insight, and operational excellence to ensure the sustainability and growth of our institution. It will suit individuals who would like a broad financial role enabling them to experience a wide range of topics whilst still having oversight of all forecasting, cash flow and statutory reporting requirements alongside driving commercial success and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• short and longer term planning of the school including financial scenarios, CAPEX planning in close cooperation with Operations Director
• financial, strategic and KPI reporting to the regional team contributing to decision-making at the highest level
• month end and statutory accounts for both legal entities (PBIS and CBZS)
• overseeing the annual audit and liaise with external auditors, regulators, tax advisors and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
• all budgeting, forecasting and cash flows
• providing accurate and timely information to internal stakeholders such as School Principals and Budget Holders ensuring costs are maintained and effectively utilised across campuses
• working with our Operations teams on our key activities such as Catering, Cleaning, Building Management to ensure appropriate procurement procedures in place across campuses and meeting with major supplies to ensure delivering against contractual expectations
• regularly review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial and compliance controls
• facilitating responses for our central Tax, Legal and Treasury teams on data collection points

Personal Specifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

• a minimum of 7 years of accounting and financial leadership required
• statutory compliance experience required as there are 2 legal entities where statutory accounts are required for both Internal and External reporting
• experience in the area of reporting and consolidation, business planning, cash flow management and process improvement
• skilled in managing and leading teams
• experienced in use of accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics would be favourable)
• recognised finance or accountancy qualification
