Supplier Quality & Development Engineer

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team, who will help us with the assessment and development of suppliers, the introduction of new products, and ensuring the quality of supplied components. You will work in an international environment and collaborate with suppliers from various parts of the world. We welcome technically-oriented candidates with experience in quality or manufacturing who want to further develop in the area of supplier processes.

What can you expect in this position?

• You will support our team in qualifying our suppliers according to the IRIS standard, developing the supplier portfolio, ensuring quality management processes, and increasing their efficiency.
• You will validate new suppliers, conduct assessments and process audits with supplier classification with regards to the manufacturability of complex components (primarily castings) according to VDA 6.3 - if you don’t have experience with this yet, we will gladly teach you everything you need.
• When introducing new products and processes, you will monitor and evaluate quality planning (APQP), you will participate in the production ramp-up control – from prototypes to the first samples
• Together with colleagues, you will seek ways to streamline and stabilize manufacturing processes and help suppliers increase the reliability and flexibility of deliveries

What do we expect?

• Secondary or higher education in the field of engineering, industrial engineering or electrical engineering
• Experience in supplier management and supplier quality
• Fluent English in both speech and writing
• Willingness to travel to suppliers (Up to 30% (mainly within Europe – but possible globally)
• Adherence to and respect for established processes
• Flexibility, communication, team spirit, eagerness to learn and participate in process improvements

What we value – but don’t require

• Knowledge of IRIS standards, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and VDA
• DGQ training or qualification as a quality management auditor
• Experience with Six Sigma, Poka Yoke, FMEA methods, etc.
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially in the field of foundry
