Senior Power BI Consultant (DAX) – remote

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Consultant to join an international project. You will be part of an agile team delivering end-to-end BI solutions – from data ingestion and modeling to reporting and performance optimization – enabling business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions across multiple domains.

Project Information

• Goal: Deliver high-quality self-service BI solutions enabling data-driven decisions across domains.
• Scope: End-to-end BI delivery – from data ingestion (Snowflake/Fabric) to reporting (Power BI/Cognos).
• Expected Results: Actionable insights, performance-optimized reports, strong data governance framework, and scalable BI architecture.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Power BI – Expert level (5–7+ years)

  - DAX, Power Query (M language), complex measures, advanced data modeling, row-level security
  - Experience with complex dashboards, reports, and performance optimization
  - Strong understanding of Power BI Service (publishing, workspace management, governance)

• Snowflake – solid experience with SQL queries and data warehousing
• SQL proficiency
• Data modeling and data warehouse concepts (star/snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables)
• Integration with BI tools (Power BI, ETL/ELT processes)
• Data Warehousing & Analytics – 5+ years (ETL/ELT pipelines, dimensional modeling, data governance)
• Ability to work with large datasets, optimize queries, and manage performance
• Experience across multiple domains (Finance, Retail, Pricing, or similar)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams
• Strong stakeholder management and requirements-gathering skills
• Fluent English (written & spoken)

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Microsoft Fabric (backend) – Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, OneLake, Synapse integration
• IBM Cognos – reporting, dashboarding, migration to Power BI
• Cloud platforms – Azure (preferred)
• Project Management Tools – Jira, Azure DevOps or similar
• Agile Methodology – Scrum-based delivery experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain BI solutions using Power BI and Snowflake
• Build scalable data models, dashboards, and reports tailored to business KPIs
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines (Snowflake / Microsoft Fabric)
• Ensure performance, security, and governance of BI solutions
• Integrate multiple data sources (Power BI, Fabric, Cognos) and perform validation/QA
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver insights
• Document data lineage, architecture, and provide user training & knowledge transfer
• Contribute to data governance, best practices, and process automation
