POSITION SUMMARY

Provide leadership and support to the Czech operations for Purchasing, Negotiations with suppliers and quote support to the Shawmut Internal Quote/Costing Team.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Update, Manage and Post RMI’s for European and Global commodity suppliers for Executive Management review.
• Generate and send quote requests to suppliers, follow up for timely responses and organize quotes for the Shawmut internal Quote/Costing Team.
• Support Supply Chain Team intervening with suppliers to get materials as needed.
• Negotiate with local Energy suppliers to the Czech plant for best cost and coverage.
• Develops and directs a Czech Plant Level Purchasing Strategy in concert with the Shawmut Global Strategy where appropriate.
• Works with Product Development and Engineering Teams to identify needed resources and ensures their timely delivery.
• Works in partnership with Supplier Quality Management Team to ensure supplier performance and report out to suppliers through supplier monitoring system.
• Review pricing and approve Czech Purchase Order Requisitions.
• Optimize Czech supply chain activities in concert with Operations to achieve maximum efficiency while ensuring 100% delivery to internal and external customers.
• Review overall inventory levels to look for opportunities to improve.
• Reviews and approves expedited shipments as necessary for manufacturing requirements and assign appropriate responsibility for cost of same utilizing PTR system.
• Evaluates causes behind expedited needs to determine if systemic changes are necessary. Recommend or make changes as appropriate.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management.
• 3-5 years of experience in an Automotive or Just In Time Manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiating and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills; and ability to understand key customer/operations issues.
• Effective organization and planning skills.
• Drive, passion, high energy; comfortable in a fast-paced work environment/
• Must be available during off-hours to handle urgent requests and must be able to handle a competitive environment.
