Job vacancy: Intern
Department: Outreach & Communications
Reports to: Communications Officer
Type of internship: Part-time
Location: Prague, Czechia
Application deadline: 10 September 2025
The Prague Civil Society Centre is a non-profit organisation that supports and empowers civil society and independent media in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Designed to operate in the harshest of conditions, we do everything we can to support those working towards more open, free, and democratic futures – no matter how far away that may seem today. We believe that a vibrant civil society and independent media are key to this. We work to ensure that activists, journalists, and changemakers of all kinds, many of whom work under the most repressive regimes, get the support they need to push for change, be it grants, capacity building, or connections.
About the role:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic young professional who is comfortable working with social media and thrives in a dynamic environment. As Communications Intern, you’ll contribute to the efforts for getting the word out about the Prague Civil Society Centre. Under the supervision of the Communications Officer, you’ll help grow our online presence and secure coverage at our major events in Czechia.
This is a role that requires sensitivity to the specific environments we work in and the restrictions working in closed and closing political contexts brings to public communications whilst also finding creative ways to highlight the extraordinary work our partners achieve.
This is a three-month internship at our office in central Prague, starting this autumn, or in spring 2026, with the possibility of an extension for another three months for interested applicants.
The position is part-time (20 hours/week) depending on the candidate’s availability and preferences. The internship is paid at CZK 200/hour. The intern is also entitled to vacation based on the number of days worked.
Key responsibilities:
Produce external communications content (including multimedia products) primarily for social media
Support the production of other types of content, such as for website, digital newsletters, and other publications
Contribute to the organisation of both public and closed events in Prague in line with the Centre’s communication strategy

How to apply:
