COUNTRY MANAGER FOR THE CZECH REPUBLIC | TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS

For a Czech company that is part of an international group operating in the transport and logistics sector, we are looking for an experienced senior manager. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operations, financial performance, and further development in the Czech market.

We are looking for someone who can combine strategic management with hands-on operational leadership, make independent decisions, and work closely with the company’s Managing Director and the international group management.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· managing the day-to-day operations of a Czech company active in international road freight transport,

· assuming responsibility for the company’s operational and financial performance within the scope of the assigned authority,

· developing and implementing the business strategy in line with the international group’s objectives,

· managing budgets, costs, and the achievement of defined KPIs,

· leading and developing the team, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee performance management,

· overseeing the recruitment and retention of drivers, operational staff, and warehouse employees,

· monitoring fleet utilisation, vehicle availability, and operational efficiency,

· ensuring compliance with Czech legislation in the areas of transport, employment, occupational health and safety,

· developing relationships with key customers, business partners, suppliers, and public institutions,

· identifying new business opportunities and supporting the company’s further development in the Czech market,

· resolving operational issues and implementing the international group’s standards,

· providing regular reports and working closely with the Managing Director and the international group management.

For day-to-day operational management, the Country Manager will be granted clearly defined authority and a power of attorney covering the actions required to perform the role. Contracts and other legal acts requiring the signature of the company’s statutory representative will continue to be signed by the Managing Director.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

· you have proven experience in a senior management position within transport, freight forwarding, or logistics,

· you have a strong understanding of international road freight transport and the Czech transport market,

· you hold a valid Certificate of Professional Competence for Road Transport Operators recognised in the Czech Republic – this is an essential requirement,

· you have experience in people management, employee recruitment, and operational coordination,

· you are familiar with the Czech business environment and relevant legislation,

· you are confident working with budgets, costs, financial results, and operational performance indicators,

· you are fluent in Czech and English,

· knowledge of Polish is an advantage,

· you are able to work independently, take responsibility, and make decisions in a rapidly changing environment,

· you have strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills,

· you are proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable working with operational and financial data,

· you hold a category B driving licence and are willing to travel according to the company’s operational needs.
