KYC/AML Team Manager with CZ and EN

For our client operating in the financial services sector, we are looking for an experienced leader to take responsibility for managing a team focused on KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and AML activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of CDD specialists supporting the Czech and Slovak markets.
• Ensure the effective execution of client onboarding, periodic reviews, and offboarding processes.
• Oversee compliance with AML/KYC requirements and internal policies.
• Assess high-risk and complex cases, recommend appropriate actions, and ensure timely escalation in line with established procedures.
• Collaborate with the Compliance team to develop and maintain internal guidelines, policies, and process documentation.
• Drive process optimization initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and risk management.
• Maintain high-quality standards within the team through regular reviews and quality controls.
• Monitor team performance using defined KPIs and support the achievement of business objectives.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching, and mentoring to team members, fostering their professional growth.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across the organization as well as international colleagues.
• Represent the team in internal projects and provide expert recommendations and insights to management.
• Stay up to date with AML legislation and regulatory developments and ensure their effective implementation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in AML, KYC, or Customer Due Diligence within a financial institution.
• Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
• University degree, preferably in Finance, Law, Economics, or a related field.
• Ability to make independent decisions, take ownership, and prioritize effectively.
• Experience with process improvement and team development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and financial crime risk management.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to handle complex cases.
• Fluent Czech or Slovak and a very good command of English for daily communication in an international environment.
• High attention to detail, commitment to quality, and strong ethical standards with a high level of discretion.
