What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Team Lead Accounting within our Plugsurfing division and is located in Prague. Plugsurfing is a fast-growing Corpay electromobility business and one of the leading European electromobility service providers. In this role, you will have full accountability of your responsibility areas and work closely with the rest of the Finance team to ensure high-quality accounting data to support business decisions and meet the company’s compliance requirements. You will be responsible for 1) operational accounting (Accounts payables and Accounts receivables), 2) statutory reporting of Plugsurfing GmbH and 3) tax compliance and VAT reporting in co-operation with professional tax advisors. You will also lead audit process from accounting side and contribute to accounting-focused development processes. You will manage an accounting team of three employees and report to Finance Director, Plugsurfing.

How We Work

As a Team Lead Accounting you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment (on average 2 days home office vs 3 days in office presence). Occasional traveling from Prague to Berlin may be needed. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Assigned workspace in Prague office
Company-issued equipment: laptop, monitor and accessories + remote access for the Home Office Days

Role Responsibilities

• Lead operational accounting (AP and AR) to ensure accurate, timely supplier payments and customer invoicing
• Own the monthly close: postings, reconciliations, validations, and a robust balance sheet review
• Coordinate statutory reporting for Plugsurfing within required timetables and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Prepare and submit the data needed for monthly VAT declarations, working closely with professional tax advisors
• Act as the key contact for auditors and drive the audit process from accounting side
• Build and continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls to support scale and compliance
• Contribute to finance development projects (e.g., reporting improvements, automation, application of AI, ERP enhancements)
• Support the Finance team with ad hoc analysis and clear, actionable reporting as needed
• Lead, coach, and prioritize the work of a team of three accountants to deliver high-quality outcomes

Qualifications & Skills

Must-haves

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 6+ years of experience in financial accounting (hands-on, end-to-end)
• English fluency (B2 or higher) and limited German working proficiency (B1 or higher).
• Solid understanding of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or local GAAPs)
• Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver under deadlines
• High IT literacy and comfort working with large datasets (e.g., advanced Excel skills)
• Comfortably operating in a fast-changing environment and making decisions within your area of responsibility, even with incomplete information.
  
  Nice to have
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Navision, or Business Central
• Experience as a team leader
• Understanding of VAT taxation and experience supporting VAT declarations
• Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
• Experience with payroll accounting
• Knowledge of Polish
• Working as a part of the Corpay team you will need a hands-on attitude, which means taking responsibility, working transparently, bringing your own ideas to the shared table and getting things done.
