What will be your role:

You will take managerial responsibility for maintaining transparent and accurate financial records, ensuring full alignment with reporting standards, national legislation, and internal policies. You will drive the optimization of accounting workflows and lead the adoption of modern tools. Effective leadership in this role requires active collaboration with internal teams, external advisors, and international stakeholders to secure smooth and compliant financial operations.

The main activities of the role are:

• Overall responsibility for the accounting agenda of ELI ERIC in accordance with Czech legal standards
• Leadership and coordination of the accounting team, task allocation, supervision, and professional development
• Oversight of periodical closings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting
• Review and approval of VAT reports, statutory statements, and other mandatory reporting
• Monitoring and regular reconciliation of all company receivables, payables, and balance sheet accounts
• Acting as the main contact for audits, preparation of statutory financial statements, and cooperation with tax advisors
• Ensuring proper documentation, internal controls, and adherence to internal financial procedures
• Active participation in financial planning, budgeting support, and management reporting
• Driving improvements in accounting processes and supporting the implementation of modern tools and automation
• Close collaboration with other departments, external consultants, and international stakeholders

We expect you to have:

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including several years in a senior or leadership role, ideally in a larger or international organization
• Excellent knowledge of Czech accounting and tax legislation
• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA (required)
• Strong analytical skills, precision, independence, and reliability
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Advanced command of English (spoken and written)
• Excellent MS Office skills (especially Excel)
