The UK is due to leave the EU on 29th March 2019 and to then enter transition period until December 2020. Brexit negotiations are still on going and we do not have absolute clarity to what it will mean for EU and non EU citizens who wish to continue to, or start to, work in the UK.

However we do have some certainty in two areas:

Impact on EU citizens during Brexit transition - the period between March 2019 and December 2020 will be a transition time during which all the details of Brexit are finalised. It is expected that during this time all EU citizens living in the UK or entering the UK (however often) will retain the same rights to live and work as they currently have. The only change will be that any EU citizens newly arriving to the UK will have to formally register on arrival.
If you are an EU citizen you will be able to apply to get either settled or pre-settled status. This will mean you can continue to live and work in the UK after December 2020. If you are eligible for settledstatus you can stay in the UK indefinitely. If you are eligible for pre-settledstatus you can stay in the UK for a further 5 years from the date that you get pre-settled status. With both settled and pre-settled status you are entitled to:
- work in the UK - travel in and out of the UK - use the NHS

Our company is fully committed to supporting all appropriate employees to apply for this scheme should they wish to do so and to providing any advice on the implications of Brexit more generally. We will also pay any application fees that may occur.
