The Assistant Director of Groups & Events plays a key leadership role in overseeing all group, event, and banquet-related sales and operations at Andaz Prague. This position drives revenue, ensures exceptional guest experiences, leads a high‑performing team, and upholds the creative and dynamic spirit of the Andaz brand. The Assistant Director of Groups & Events works closely with Sales, F&B, Culinary, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to deliver innovative experiences that reflect the hotel’s positioning while achieving targeted financial results.
What You Will Do
· Develop and implement group sales and catering strategies that drive revenue, market share, and brand strength.
· Use data‑driven insights to evaluate market dynamics and adjust strategies proactively.
· Participate in commercial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
· Strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across departments.
· Create and execute group and event sales strategies to maximize revenue across assigned markets.
· Monitor and enhance team performance through clear accountability, goal setting, and continuous coaching.
· Recruit, retain, and develop high‑performing talent while fostering a culture of excellence and fairness aligned with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
Operational Responsibilities
· Direct and coordinate all group and event activities at Andaz Prague and communicate these activities throughout the hotel.
· Position Andaz Prague as the most unique, high‑profile group and event venue by continuously developing creative themes and setups, and by marketing it as the leading banquet and catering destination in the city.
· Conduct regular competitive analyses.
· Collaborate with the Marketing & Communication Manager to develop the banquet brochure and other promotional materials.
· Work closely with the Food & Beverage team and the Executive Chef to regularly update banquet menus, themes, and setups.
· Develop, implement, maximize, monitor, and evaluate objectives, strategies, and activities for Catering, Conference Sales, and Group Sales to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue targets.
· Measure, interpret, prioritize, and evaluate the effectiveness of group sales and event activities, reassessing programs to meet or exceed the Annual Business Plan.
· Establish and maintain accurate forecasting procedures that support operational and cost adjustments based on group and room revenue performance.
· Ensure room and banquet space inventories are monitored and that strategies are implemented to fill periods of low occupancy.
· Ensure optimal use of technology and maintain clean, accurate data at all times.
· Ensure full compliance with the hotel’s credit and collection procedures.
· Attend monthly credit meetings and present all required follow‑up information clearly and efficiently.
· Ensure all group sales and event contracts comply with Hotel Policies & Procedures, are commercially sound, and are accurately maintained in an integrated database updated weekly.
· Uphold high departmental standards, providing constructive feedback where necessary.
· Develop and strengthen relationships with local businesses relevant to group sales and events.
· Attend relevant networking events / international fairs and exhibitions for the assigned group and event segments, as discussed and assigned by the DOSM.

Financial Responsibilities
· Oversee and control the Group Sales & Events portion of the Annual Operating Budget, together with the F&B Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing.
· Develop the annual Group Sales & Events plan with the Director of Sales & Marketing, setting measurable objectives, strategies, and action plans aligned with the Annual Business Plan.
· Support staffing needs in other divisions based on hotel priorities and business forecasts.
· Administer the budget together with the Director of Sales & Marketing, ensuring expenditures remain within limits approved by the General Manager.
· Maintain complete and well‑documented records of all group and event agreements in line with Hyatt International Policies & Procedures.
· Set individual sales and volume targets for Sales colleagues in the form of personal business plans, reviewing monthly performance for Events and Group Sales.
· Maintain a strong understanding of contribution margins for each product and collaborate with department heads to maximize results.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Ensure an efficient and accurate manual and electronic filing system is always maintained.
· Conduct daily sales meetings with clients.
· Ensure all meetings are well‑planned, efficient, and results‑oriented.
· Safeguard all contracts and financial documents.
General Responsibilities
· Understand and adhere strictly to all rules and regulations outlined in the Associate Handbook and the hotel’s Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety policies.
· Report for duty punctually and wear the correct uniform according to departmental standards.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
· Build strong rapport and working relationships with colleagues within the department and across all hotel departments.
· Attend and contribute to staff meetings, departmental and hotel trainings, and related activities.
· Fully support the departmental training function.
· Perform any reasonable tasks and secondary duties assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
· Consistently project a positive and motivated attitude and practice self‑control.
· Provide courteous and professional service at all times.
· Attend all meetings as required by management.
· Ensure associates are fully aware of safety procedures related to their work.
