Bookbot is a re-commerce platform where over 10 million books have already changed hands. Every day, we send around 25,000 books to new homes and gain thousands of new customers - figures we plan to double within the next year. We're the 15th fastest-growing tech startup in the CEE region. We aim to make the second-hand book market new European standard. €4 million from our latest funding round will help us on this journey.

Bookbot gives books a second life - we source pre-owned books from suppliers and carefully decide which titles are added to our website. You will be responsible for the whole approval process - leading two teams of part-timers who evaluate supplier photos and make the final decisions which books we want.

This is a great opportunity to build something from scratch, shape the process, and directly influence how we assess thousands of books every week!

What awaits you here:

• Building and managing a brand-new team of 20 part-timers (Czech + German books).
• Defining and refining the book lead approval process, ensuring only quality books enter our system.
• Evaluating book photos from suppliers and deciding which titles we want.
• Planning shifts and ensuring optimal coverage based on incoming lead volumes.
• Onboarding, training, and mentoring new team members.
• Cooperating closely with our Pricing and Operations teams to align on data, quality, and performance.
• Taking ownership of KPIs like approval rates, average book price, approval delay, and team productivity metrics.
• Developing new methodologies and continuously improving processes to hit record-breaking results.

Your profile looks ideally like this:

• You’re analytical, comfortable with working with data, and love improving processes based on insights.
• You have solid people management experience and enjoy leading others.
• You understand the book market - whether from selling, pricing, or evaluating.
• You’re fluent in Czech and English (German is a plus).
• You’re proactive, structured, and not afraid to make decisions.
• Bonus points if you have experience with remote teams or managing performance based on KPIs.

• You’ll work closely with the Pricing and Operations teams and CEO to ensure smooth data flow and top-quality approvals. Your manager will be Tomáš Bauer.
• The role is on-site in our Prague office.
