Position Overview:

Organon, as a Women’s Health company, leads its business for Eastern Europe Central & South region compromising of 16 markets through a cluster organization called EESC cluster. Finance is an integral part of the cluster team with an agile structure with all finance members of the team reporting directly to the Finance Director. This enables flexible team settings depending on tasks, eases resource allocation, and creates development opportunities. The Associate Director works together with the other team members in charge of EESC finance activities.

The Associate Director is responsible for the activities of Czech & Slovakia in the cluster. In this role, he/she has responsibility for the US GAAP and local GAAP results with a key focus on the Czech & Slovakian entities. This includes all accounting, tax, treasury and internal control-related matters performed locally or through partner teams (e.g. BSC, CoE, third-party service provider).

In addition to that, each Associated Director has a cluster-level responsibility in the area of risk assurance, finance projects, Alliance finance, OTC, External statutory partners, etc. The allocation of these activities depends on the actual team setup and interests-capabilities. The final scope of this role is therefore shaped based on alignment across the finance team.

Main responsibilities:

· Responsible for accurate and compliant results in the Czech & Slovak legal entities for US GAAP and local GAAP (UGB).

· Activities managed in collaboration with the BSCs and CoEs include:

· Preparing and closing books on a monthly basis

· Inventory and asset management

· All related treasury activities

· All relevant tax activities

· Activities linked to responsibilities include:

· Yearly closing of statutory books incl management report

· Supporting transfer pricing documentation and tax filings

· Supporting audits of public accounting firms

· Preparation of tax filings

· Contact point for local tax authorities and internal audit teams

· Assist the StS Shared Services organization to solve StS related issues, and facilitate/guide local StS activity owners

· Apply SOX and non-SOX controls to local processes and general oversight of the overall control environment for the entity(ies)

· Cluster-level responsibility for one of the finance areas such as risk assurance, finance projects, Alliance finance, OTC, External statutory partners

· Contribute to the roll-out of a new ERP (SAP HANA) project managed by Global & represent Czech and Slovakian entities

 Background Requirements and Qualifications:

· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance or Accounting and at least 5 years of experience in Accounting.

· Czech GAAP qualification as a chartered accountant + Slovakia GAAP understanding.

· Ability to lead end-to-end statutory requirement.

· Experience & proficiency with full trading & service entities

· Experience working in collaboration with a shared service center

· Fluent in Czech and English (proficiency level)

Skills:

· Several years of experience in accounting in an international setting

· Demonstrates understanding of national and regional finance and tax laws, regulations, requirements and standards (i.e. Local GAAP, US GAAP) and applies them to ensure the financial integrity of the business and financial statements.

· Good SAP knowledge

· Ability to operate in multiple complex entities/geographies.

· Flexibility in dealing beyond a strict job description.

· Very good MS Office skills (mainly Excel)

· Experience in multiple local Tax Laws (advantage)

· Solid knowledge of SOX controls and internal controls in general. High level of integrity and compliance.

· Pro-active, entrepreneurial, problem-solving, goal-oriented, and hands-on approach; accustomed to working independently and self-organized.

· Open mindset and flexible work style. Open to working in flexible and flat (no hierarchy) teams.

· Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in different locations.
