Plant Controller

Job Summary:

The position is the leader of the finance team responsible for all plant financial activities, including adherence to Colgate Financial Policies, internal controls, asset protection and plant performance analysis. A reliable consultant to business partners providing business insights, direction on governance, cost management, opportunities to improve efficiencies through automation, standardization and use of technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leader of plant finance team responsible for all plant financial activities, internal controls and performance analysis.

• Coordination, analysis and communication of the Hustopeče Plant’s annual consolidated budget process, calendar of deliverables and guidelines, as well as periodic budget revisions, LEs (latest estimates) and monthly analysis of actual results compared to budget/estimate (VOH, FOH, Manufacturing Variances, OPC)
• Develop and communicate Budget/LE targets, assumptions and reporting dates to all operational areas
• Review, understand and communicate all significant variances to Plant Leadership and Global Supply Chain Finance during both month end and budget/LE time periods.
• Prepare regular MRE (monthly rolling P&L estimates; put/takes) as required by the Division’s B&P annual calendar / timelines and as needed by the E2E Leadership.
• Assist in leading FTG project ideation and manage savings projects in the FTG Database.
• Engage Plant Controller peers to foster technical knowledge transfer, CI and alignment.

Member of Plant Strategic Leadership Team.

• Provide strategic financial direction and advice to manufacturing business partners.
• Collaborate with manufacturing business partners to develop business plans that consider risk and cost/benefit relationships.
• Participate in all areas of leadership initiatives including Safety and EOHS.
• Monitor KPIs on a monthly basis as well as post project implementation.
• Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by the Plant Manager/Plant Leadership Group or other GSC groups.
• Act as liaison with other internal functions (e.g. GSC, Proc, Procurement, CS&L, S&T, CBS, GD&P, Division / General Accounting, Tax, etc) and external partners (PwC, KPMG).

Ensure CFP Compliance related to the Hustopeče Plant capital program by:

• Review of all project closing documents.
• Providing guidance to the Technical/Engineering team related to proper classification of spending, verification of savings calculations and proper fixed asset ledger values.
• Evaluate investment decisions using and ROI mindset and the analysis principles of BASICS and C-P’s Capital Management system.
• Manage work activity and development of Direct Reports using through continuous guidance and feedback.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study.
• 7+ years’ experience in Finance / Accounting environment.
• 3+ years’ experience in managing people.
• CPA or equivalent designation.
• Prior experience in Supply Chain, CS&L, Procurement and/or Manufacturing environments.
