Technical Support Engineer

GoodData is looking for an experienced L2 Technical Support Engineer. On this position you would be responsible for providing high-quality technical consultancy and customer support for the GoodData cloud based software across the world.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with at least two years of relevant work experience. Experience in following areas is a plus: Business Intelligence, SaaS, software development, server administration


  • deliver effective technical customer support and provide problem solutions to both technical and non-technical end users while supporting a wide range of technologies (web based application frontend/backend, REST API, DB [PostgreSQL, MySQL, Vertica], SQL, Ruby, Javascript, DNS, various authentication schemes etc.)
  • deeper follow-up investigation of technical tasks with engineering teams (troubleshooting, issue investigations, bug reporting)
  • develop a detailed understanding of GoodData platform and its components
  • required to be on-call on a rotating basis throughout the year

Required skills

  • strong troubleshooting skills with ability to go really deep
  • customer oriented with customer-facing experience
  • strong analytical skills and willingness to learn is a must
  • basic knowledge of Linux operating system, SQL, computer security, TCP/IP based computer networks and common internet protocols
  • be able to read simple programming code
  • knowledge of Business Intelligence area is a plus
  • knowledge of Splunk is a big plus
  • be able internally communicate with DevOps, Account Management, Customer Success teams located in different time zone
  • fluent written and verbal English, Czech language is a big plus
  • required to participate in 24x7 on-call duty
