Financial Data Analyst

Overview

IDC is seeking a Financial Data Analyst who will be part of IDC’s Software Tracker Team responsible for the development of advanced company financial models and financial performance scenario simulations using statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive analytics. The analyst will analyze business impact and market trends of company financial and fundamental data sources and conduct detailed analysis of validity and relationship of the data found across various sources. Presentation of data and analyses outcomes will be part of the responsibility involving creation of reports, presentations, and visualizations for various roles, functions and levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create company financial models, analyze financial statements and company performance, develop data cleaning and data classification algorithms and protocols
  • Work with large data sets and analyze business impact and market trends impact on software markets
  • Drive integration of new data sources and methodologies into existing research processes, methodologies and taxonomies
  • Designs and deliver data reports and visualization that discover business narratives from the company financial data to the level of product detail
  • Assists in preparing quality assurance project requirements by analyzing user requirements and coordinating with other project teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Information Management
  • 1+ year of experience in economics, statistics, financial data management, analysis or functions related to financial data simulation, modeling and analysis problems
  • Experience using technologies Python – Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, NLTK, PostgreSQL
  • Demonstrated strong technical knowledge in various data models, data mining, database design development, data classification techniques, and data visualization tools
  • Proven ability to work independently and ensure completion of tasks accurately and on time
  • Strong English communication skills in both verbal and written form
  • Open to learn and test new technologies
