Data Science Team Manager

Overview

IDC is seeking a Data Science Team Manager who will be responsible for establishing IDC’s new Data Science Team and the development of next-generation research tools and data analyses leveraging machine learning and advanced analytics. Our goal is to accelerate the pace of discovery and intelligence derived from data, as well as to support product innovation across the organization to ultimately, deliver greater value to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage an agile small team (2-3 members) responsible for development of data science and analytics capability, and provide our analysts access to emerging technologies and market research innovative methods
  • Create data mining and analytics architectures, coding standards, statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies
  • Lead integration of new data sources into existing research process and proprietary systems
  • Works cross-departmentally to define metrics, guidelines and strategies for the effective use of algorithms and data
  • Support the launch of new products which aggregate and visualize data from various sources
  • Build exploratory R&D projects including data mining, machine learning and advanced analytics

Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Information Management
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, analysis or functions related to data analysis problems
  • Used technologies including Python, NLTK, AWS, SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
  • Demonstrated strong team management and collaboration skills
  • Experienced with project management practices and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong English communication skills in both verbal and written form
