Settlement Accounting Manager

The Settlement Accounting Manager has responsibility for overseeing and managing the settlement accounting group, including reporting accurate reconciliation for a number of countries with a significant number of multi-currency suspense accounts and the foreign exchange positions resulting from card processing transactions and settlement payments.

Role and Duties

  • Manage and oversee activities of staff
  • Supervise the accounting operations, preparation of financial statements, month and year end closing procedures, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, assist in gathering information, etc.
  • Ensure reconciliation is performed in line with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements Timely reporting of variances is critical to minimize risk of exposure to losses
  • Plan and assist with internal and external audits
  • Ensure internal accounting process and controls are in place and adhered to in line with SOX requirement
  • Manage, review and streamline processes

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Self-motivated and have the ability to successfully lead teams
  • Proven ability to coach, lead, manage, motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand the financial impact on decisions made and balance them with customer satisfaction
  • Financial accounting reporting systems and processes
  • Must be able to travel; 5-10% travel expectations
  • Fully proficient in MS suite including Excel
  • Very good knowledge of Czech accounting standards
  • Proficient in English language and Czech or Slovak language
