CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

As sparring partner for the CEO you will handle tasks within the finance and accounting for our head office EC Holding and 11 subsidiaries. You will be in charge of reporting budgets and accounts for the subsidiaries; will continuously work to improve the administration and economy in all parts of the company, including commercial activities, where this role is a key factor for an assessment of new customers or commercial projects.. Take an active part in the mother company´s strategy procedure.

Your main areas of responsibility will be:

  • accounting systems in all the companies (IT applications and office procedures)
  • treasury processes within the whole organization, including subsidiaries (cash pooling, optimization o the banking transactions and processes, partnership with the banks)
  • tax accounts – locally and globally
  • reporting of accounts for the subsidiaries and the mother company
  • contact to external auditor regarding audit of the mother company and the subsidiaries
  • contact to authorities, auditors and bankers on company behalf of the subsidiaries and the mother company
  • establishing efficient office procedures including controller function of the administration in the subsidiaries including assessment of the need for training; support to subsidiaries regarding accounting and general affairs procedures etc. This support may entail short trips to the subsidiaries
  • reporting to 5 shareholding companies as well as information about accounts/budgets and operation
  • reporting of annual accounts at the annual general meeting
  • ensuring compliance with local finance legislation and respective Group instructions (ERGO/ERV)
  • active direct personal involvement in commercial projects, eventual M&A projects within or outside ERGO Group
  • managing 2 direct subordinates in the finance team and indirectly 9 finance staff in the subsidiaries

Successful candidate profile:

Commercial education; at least equivalent to Bachelor in Finance/Accounting

Experience in overall company and finance strategy procedure and finance and treasury operations at least 10 years

Experience in international accounting (preferred)

Experience in international M&A projects is a big advantage

Very good command of English (written and spoken) is essential for successful performance of the daily function

Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for the tasks

Able to achieve ambitious goals

Service minded – externally (towards customers) and also internally (towards other departments and subsidiaries)

Flexibility that enables you to keep the overall view while acting as sparring partner for general managers in the subsidiaries

Understanding of IT tools and the potential of the new technology as well as the ability to utilise these tools efficiently mainly in the accounting & treasury area.

Readiness to be involved in projects and tasks from different areas, different parts of the world

Ability to communicate to many partners (internal and external) worldwide – efficiently (mainly email, phones)

Flexibility to travel on short notice.
