Business Controller

Commercial Controller is the Finance Business Partner for Philips Televisions and recently formed Audio-Video-Accessories (AVA) Business Groups. Controller is part of the European Controlling team, and is supported by F&A teams in Prague and Poland. Under the responsibility of Controller will be a set of European countries, such as DACH, Adriatic, Balkan countries, CZ&SK, etc.

Commercial controller is responsible for:

  • Supporting countries´ business management in key business decisions, and providing transparency to product and customer profitability
  • Controlling the actual spend vs. plan related to sales provisions, as well as Marketing an Fixed costs, and approving the spend
  • Participating in creation of business plan (budget), and current view forecasts
  • Analyzing profitability of the product categories versus objectives and trends
  • Ensuring business group follows up applicable finance policies
  • Participating in improvement projects to support business start
  • Reviewing open Accounts Receivable items with credit managers
  • Supporting the Sales accruals controllers during Audits (External/Internal)
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and accounting standards, including Internal control standard (ICS) self-assessment on quarterly basis


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree ideally in economics (finance or accounting)
  • Min 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Fluent in English, other European language (preferably German) is an advantage (daily communication with European branches)
  • Proactive behavior, responsible, sense of urgency, structured approach
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, can-do attitude, positive mindset, out-of-box thinking
  • Experience in working in virtual/remote teams is appreciated
  • Previous experience in Consumer Electronics or IT industry would be a plus
  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience with SAP as advantage
