Mission

Database Administrator ensures the administration and maintenance of our database systems. This position is providing database expertise for projects in terms of technical architecture, database infrastructure and data security. Willingness to research and develop solutions is essential for this position. This role requires a great deal of liaison with internal and external IT departments and cooperation with multi-cultural teams in Continental Europe.

This role covers following activities

  • Administration of database servers (mainly MS SQL), implementation of High-Availability and clustering solutions, and management of database deployments across CE countries
  • Cooperation with architecture teams for infrastructure and security design for databases
  • Implementing norms and standards, establishing and maintaining infrastructures and scripts for database server management
  • Sustaining the security, integrity, availability and protection (replication, backup) of data
  • Monitoring and enhancement of performance for database servers
  • Influencing and conducting change and database deployment management
  • Close cooperation with application support and development teams
  • Ensuring all the data complies with legal regulations (GDPR, etc.)

Your profile

  • Experience at least 4 years in a same position for database server management
  • Experience and demonstrable practice for MS SQL database is a must, and being certified in MS SQL administration and performance tuning is a competitive asset
  • Hands-on working knowledge for Oracle technologies is preferable
  • Proficiency in administration of Unix/Linux or Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge in ODS and/or DWH
  • A willingness to keep up to date with developments in technology (In-Memory, Big Data, Container, Cloud, etc.)
  • Fluent in English language and any other European language is an advantage
  • Understanding of service delivery oriented business
  • Strong communicator and problem solver (colleagues from different countries, culture, expertise, etc.)
  • Has strong organizational skills; prioritization of tasks and projects
  • Team player and solution and client oriented
