European Tax Specialist/Manager – Philips TV & Sound

The tax manager is part of the European tax team, which consists of 7 colleagues in Amsterdam and Prague and Ghent (Belgium). The role is pivotal in the continuous improvement of tax processes and in supporting the business in their growth plans and organizational readiness from a tax point of view. You will contribute significantly to the success of the company through the setting and delivery of key initiatives, stakeholder management, building best in class processes and the governance of the risks of the company. You will bear responsibility for the tax matters of various group entities and cooperate with your team members in global projects.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Assure that CIT reports are prepared, reviewed and filed in time
  • Assure that the tax positions are correctly recorded into the group accounts (tax accounting) and reported
  • Tax Control Framework: co-determine the scope, analyze the risks, set up procedures and assure that proper controls are in place, followed by maintaining the framework
  • Support the Transfer Pricing Manager and TP processes. Help to simplify and automate, ensure that TP regulations are followed
  • Be close to the business, being able to obtain information from and share information with stakeholders in the business
  • Managing external stakeholders: Tax Authorities and Advisers
  • Assist the European Tax director with ad hoc projects
  • Manage internal and external tax audits
  • Keep up to date with local and global tax legislation and be part of shaping the company’s readiness for implementation of new reporting obligations
  • Ensure a positive and constructive environment within the team and with internal and external stakeholders.

What we need:

  • University degree, preferably oriented to finance/taxes
  • 5+ years of relevant working experiences in taxes, mainly corporate income tax, ideally on multinational level
  • Transfer pricing experience is welcome
  • Fluent in English, other European language is welcome
  • Cultural awareness and interest
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, hands on solution driven approach
  • Critical and analytical mindset, with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Drive for problem solving, ability to manage multiple deadlines and stress resistance
