Job Description

The PC Specialist’s role is to take ownership of all company PC’s whether desktops, laptops or tablets within the region. Working proactively with vendors, users, IS team and the SM, you will be responsible for the whole PC cycle from procurement whether that be local or remote, group or individual, working with images, installing Windows and software, configuring per policies, compliance ensuring all PC’s are fully patched and secure to shipping and logistics.
Additionally, assisting the SM in various global and regional IS projects as required.

The EMEAI region covers 30 locations in 17 countries that will be supported by this role. Some builds and updates will be handled locally and some remotely via remote assistance tool. Some travel is also expected at any of the locations and for IS meetings.

Above all, ensuring security and integrity of the PC’s by keeping in line with global compliance and Pyrotek’s IS strategy.

Responsibilities

The PC Specialist’s role will be responsible for the following:

  • Asset Management
    Asset tagging and management of all PC’s.
  • PC Configuration
    Configuring PC’s in line with Pyrotek’s policies either locally or remotely.
  • PC Builds, Rebuilds and Replacements
    Installing new PC’s, PC rebuilds and PC Replacements with the standard Operating System (OS) or images with standard software including copying over and syncing user data.
  • PC Compliance
    Keeping PC’s within compliance, secure and virus free via standard Anti-Virus (AV) by continual software updates and patches both manually and via System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • PC Procurement
    Purchasing new PC’s and PC Replacements per Pyrotek’s refresh policies either with group purchasing or liaising with local in-country vendors.
  • PC Shipping
    Handling all logistics of PC’s and PC Replacements including working with vendors on shipping.
  • Cover Support
    Providing basic cover IT Support within EMEAI region as necessary.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have the ability to work well under pressure to strict deadlines, as an individual and as part of the EMEAI IS team and to communicate with non-technical users, managers, technical staff and vendors. Therefore, good communication skills, hardworking ethics and a welcoming friendly manner are necessary for this role.
University degree while ideal, is not necessary as training will be given. However, it is desirable to have passed one or more Microsoft’s exams or similar.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows 10 Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Apps and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with troubleshooting common installation errors with Windows Operating Systems and Software.
  • Willingness to work out of business hours as required. We try to keep this to a minimum but it’s the nature of the role and some work must be completed out ofbusiness hours.
  • Willingness to travel overseas occasionally as and when needed.
