Commercial Territory Manager_Medical Devices

Role Purpose:

  • Working as a member of the Field Team and under the supervision of the Regional Sales Manager, the Commercial Territory Manager will create and develop the THV business in the assigned territory. The person in this role will be required to achieve annual sales targets.
  • The role of Commercial Territory Manager is field-based and calls for working in the territory for the majority of the working week. No more than 30% of the time will be required for internal meetings, training and administration.

Major Job Functions:

  • The main focus on B2B model – managing distributors across the region defined by Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Albania
  • Sell the company's medical device products by interacting with current customers. These include physicians, procurement, stock controllers and hospital management, with a primary focus on Heart Teams including Interventional Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons and Administrators
  • Be technically competent on all aspects of the Edwards THV portfolio of products and the TAVI therapy (including device preparation).
  • Identify opportunities for new business in the target markets
  • Identify, pursue and convert new customers (physicians and hospitals) and lead the efforts to set up new centers, from initial planning to activation (including launch and clinical sign-off)
  • Develop sales forecasts for the territory, and define and implement local strategies
  • Create and maintain a ‘Territory Action Plan' (TAP) in collaboration and alignment with the assigned ‘Field Clinical Specialist'. Execute the TAP according to plan.
  • Maintain market data and analysis, mapping competitors and customer activities
  • Report business and customer related information via CRM tools

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Preferably educated to university degree level
  • Well developed, proven selling skills and business acumen
  • Knowledge of the operating room or cathlab environment is a plus
  • Established network in the interventional cardiology market is an advantage
  • Advanced level of clinical understanding and comfortable with hands-on training of clinicians
  • Effective cross-cultural communication
  • Flexibility and the desire and ability to travel extensively
  • Awareness of markets to identify opportunities and act on them
  • Fluent in English and the local language of the territory
  • Full clean driver's license
