Main responsibilities of the DB Administrator in our team are the organization and automation of operations in a 24x7 environment - this includes the cooperation with the adjacent operating units and the developers. You would be responsible for the methods and tools used, as well as for the optimization of the overall performance.


  • Securing the database operation under consideration of the agreed service levels
  • Development of standards, procedures, and conventions for (highly available) database operation
  • Technical project management for upgrade and migration projects
  • Evaluation and recommendation of DBMS products for use in operational environments
  • Maintenance of the operational manual of the systems supported
  • Preparation of work instructions for the first level support for the responsible systems
  • Support of colleagues with problems and questions regarding the IT infrastructure used
  • Ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs/KPIs for the supported system


  • Relevant professional experience in the area of database operations
  • Knowledge in Microsoft SQL-Server ( min. SQL Version 2016 to SQL Version 2019)
  • Experience in redundancy and failover (AlwaysOn Cluster, Failover Cluster, and Standalone Instance)
  • SQL Server Patching/Upgrade Experience
  • Experience in DB Migration (Copy/Restore with Backup Tools like :Networker or Data Protector)
  • User Rights knowledge
  • Experience with Integration Services (SSIS) Packages deployment/update
  • Knowledge of shell scripting and SQL programming and automation is nice to have
  • Fluent English written and spoken, German is nice to have
